Tamara Ehlert

Tamara Ehlert (born December 28, 1921 in Königsberg i. Pr. , † September 8, 2008 in Munich ) was a German poet and narrator.

Life

After graduating from high school at the Bismarck-Oberlyzeum in Königsberg , she completed an acting and dance training. From 1941 she worked as a telephone operator and radio operator during the war . After the war she worked as an interpreter for the British military government . The first publications appeared in the Königsberger Tageblatt as early as 1938 . From 1945 many of her short stories and lyric poems were printed in newspapers and magazines (e.g. in the Hanover Press from 1948 ). From 1951 she also worked for the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation .

Her work So was the spring in my city was translated into Russian by Apollinarija Sulewa and published in 1993 in Ehlert's hometown, which was renamed in 1946, as a bilingual volume (German-Russian). In addition, poetry and prose have appeared in over 60 anthologies , for example in German Voices , Fernes weites Land , East Prussian love stories and other short stories in anthologies published by Rowohlt Verlag.
