Andreas Stinsky

Andreas Stinsky (* 1984 ) is a German archaeologist , cultural manager and author . He is museum director in the European cultural park Bliesbruck-Reinheim .

Life

Andreas Stinsky studied Prehistory and Early History, Classical Archeology, Provincial Roman Archeology and German Linguistics and Literature in Freiburg , Saarbrücken and Mainz .

From 2008 to 2010 he was a research associate in a geoarchaeological research project funded by the German Research Foundation at the Institute for Physical Geography and Environmental Research at Saarland University. In 2012 he became a research associate in the European Culture Park Bliesbruck-Reinheim . In 2013 he took over the management of the museums there . Under his leadership, the outdoor area and the permanent exhibitions of the European Culture Park were redesigned. He also curated several special exhibitions.

In cooperation with other scientists he called a research project that the rural settlement in the old, as UNESCO - Biosphere Reserve protected cultural landscape of Bliesgau to explore in Roman times. In the dissertation for his doctorate to Dr. phil. at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, he investigated Roman settlement in the southeastern Saarland and neighboring Lorraine .

In 2014 he was given a teaching position at Saarland University .

He lived in Verona for a while , where the idea for the first archaeological guide to Lake Garda , published by him in 2018 , was born.
