Andreas Wachter (painter)

Andreas Wachter (* 1951 in Chemnitz ) is a German painter. He is considered a representative of the middle, figure-centered generation of the Leipzig School .

Life

Born in Chemnitz in 1951, Andreas Wachter learned the profession of lettering and poster painter . From 1974 to 1980 he studied painting at the Leipzig College of Graphics and Book Art with Arno Rink and Volker Stelzmann . Andreas Wachter has been working as a freelance artist since 1982.

Wachter is married to the painter Christiane Wachter and lives and works in Erlln near Colditz in Saxony .
