Andreas Wackwitz

Andreas Wackwitz (born February 27, 1893 in Primkenau , Lower Silesia , † August 14, 1979 in Lörrach ) was a German Protestant clergyman and provost of South West Africa.

Life

At the beginning of 1933, Wackwitz became pastor of the German Protestant community in Windhoek . As provost he was chairman of the synodal committee of the German Evangelical Synod of South West Africa.

He left extensive unpublished memoirs. This was used by his grandson Stephan Wackwitz as the basis for his family novel An invisible land .
