Andreas Weinbecker

Andreas wine Becker (* 1959 / 1960 in Bremen ) is a former German basketball player .

Life

Weinbecker played with DTV Charlottenburg in the Bundesliga basketball league , he was part of the Berlin team, which played the first Bundesliga year in the club's history in 1981/82. He studied medicine in Berlin and completed his specialist training as a surgeon at the Sankt Gertrauden Hospital in Berlin-Wilmersdorf . For three years he also looked after the players of the Bundesliga basketball team Alba Berlin as a part-time team doctor . In 1999 Weinbecker worked at the Borromäus Hospital in Leer, Lower Saxony, as a senior physician in trauma surgery, and in 2000 his doctoral thesis on "The distal radius fracture: is an operatively oriented concept useful?" Was accepted at the Free University of Berlin .

In 2017, the specialist in surgery, trauma surgery and orthopedics with a focus on special trauma surgery and sports medicine took over the management of trauma surgery at the Borromäus Hospital as chief physician. 2019 was recognized as a certified knee surgeon by the German Knee Society. In addition to his professional activity as a player for the Fortuna Logabirum club, he remained connected to basketball, and he also took part in German championships with the Oldenburg TB team and played for the German team at European and World Championships.
