Andrew of Hungary (born November 30, 1327 , † September 18, 1345 in Aversa ) was a Hungarian prince from the House of Anjou .

Life

Andreas was the second son of King Karl I Robert of Hungary and his wife Elisabeth born. Princess of Poland, sister of the last Piast , King Casimir the Great . On September 28, 1333 he was betrothed to his second cousin, Johanna von Anjou . The wedding took place in the spring of 1342. After his wife had become Queen of Naples in 1343 , Pope Clement VI was also given to him on January 19, 1344 under the influence of his brother Ludwig . , the feudal lord, was granted the royal dignity. Before his coronation, he was murdered with the knowledge of his wife.
