Andrei Alexandrowitsch Ivanov ( Russian Андрей Александрович Иванов ; born March 10, 1981 in Leningrad , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with HK Välk 494 Tartu from the Estonian ice hockey league .
Career
Andrei Ivanov began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of the SKA Saint Petersburg , for whose second team he was initially active from 1998 to 2000 in the third-rate Pervaya League . The attacker then played for three years for the professional SKA team in the Superliga , as well as for its farm team HK Spartak Saint Petersburg in the Wysschaja Liga , the second Russian division. From 2003 he ran exclusively for HK Spartak in the second division. He also started the 2005/06 season at Spartak before he was on the ice for HK Homel in the Belarusian extra league for a year .
At the beginning of the 2006/07 season Ivanov returned to his Russian homeland and was signed by Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk . With Neftechimik he first ran in the Super League and from the 2008/09 season in the newly founded Continental Hockey League . In the 2010/11 season he was team captain at Neftechimik, before he was committed by HK Awangard Omsk in May 2011 and completed over 200 KHL games for Omsk in the following three game years. In 2014 he won the Nadezhda Cup with the club . In November 2014, he returned to Neftechimik in exchange for compensation.
From May to December 2015 Ivanov was under contract with HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk and acted there as team captain .
