Kirillov had his first international success at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 1986 in Lake Placid . There he won the gold medal with the relay. The following year he won the bronze medal over 10 km and the gold medal with the relay at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Asiago . His first of a total of 32 individual World Cup races he ran in January 1989 in Nové Město , which he finished classically in 12th place over 30 km. In the 1989/90 season he came four times in the World Cup points. He achieved in Örnsköldsvik with the seventh place over 30 km classic his best individual result in the World Cup and at the end of the season with the 22nd place in the overall World Cup his best overall result. At the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville , he took 30th place over 10 km classic, 17th place in the subsequent pursuit race and fifth place with the relay. At the end of February 1992 he won the World Cup in Lahti with the relay and in March 1992 in Funäsdalen he won second place with the relay. In the 1992/93 season he reached the points eight times and thus reached 25th place in the overall World Cup. At the season highlight, the World Championships in March 1993 in Falun , he won the bronze medal with the relay. In the individual races he ran there on the 13th place over 10 km classic and on the 12th place in the pursuit. At the Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer the following year , he finished 16th in the pursuit, 13th place over 10 km classic and fifth place with the relay. He completed his last World Cup race in March 1994 in Falun, which he finished classically in 20th place over 30 km.
