Andrei Anatoljewitsch Sidjakin ( Russian Андрей Анатольевич Сидякин ; born April 20, 1979 in Ufa , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with Severstal Tscherepowez in the Continental Hockey League .

Career

Sidjakin began his career in the team of Salawat Julajew Ufa from the Russian Super League , for which he played until 2002. In the 1997 NHL Entry Draft , he was drafted in the eighth round in a total of 202nd place by the Montréal Canadiens . In 2002 he switched to Severstal Tscherepowez , with whom he became Russian runner-up. A year later he left the team and went back to his hometown club Salawat Yulayev Ufa, for whom he played until 2010 - initially five years in the Super League and from the 2008/09 season in the newly founded Continental Hockey League .

The 2010/11 season began Sidjakin at HK Spartak Moscow in the KHL and ended it at its league rivals HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk . For the following season he was committed by Severstal Tscherepowez .

International

For Russia , Sidjakin took part in the U18 European Junior Championship in 1996 , where he won the gold medal with his team.
