Andrei Gennadjewitsch Dunajew ( Russian Андрей Геннадьевич Дунаев ; born January 10, 1977 in Moscow ) is a Russian lawyer, civil servant , politician and former FSB employee. From September 2011 to December 2012 he was chairman of the formerly right-wing liberal party, Right Cause . Since 2014 he has been in charge of the Rajon administration in Istra .

biography

Born in Moscow, Andrei Dunayev graduated from Moscow State University of Environmental Engineering in 1997 . After completing his studies, he joined the Russian secret service FSB . At the FSB, he worked as an investigator in the fight against crime. He also investigated the bomb attacks on houses in Russia in 1999. In a later interview, Dunayev distanced himself from his FSB past.

During his time at the FSB, Andrei Dunajew studied law at the Moscow State University of Management . He completed this degree in 2003.

From 2003 to 2006, Dunayev worked in the legal department of a subsidiary of Lukoil . In 2006, he founded a law firm called Dictum-Factum , which he ran until February 2008. From February 2008 to March 2014 he had the status of an independent lawyer. However, this status has been suspended in the administrative apparatus since the beginning of his activity.

In 2008 he was a founding member of the Right Cause party . On November 16, 2008, he was appointed chairman of the party's executive committee. He held this post until September 2011, before he succeeded the deposed party leader Mikhail Prokhorov .

On September 20, 2011, he was named the Right Cause Party's lead candidate for the 2011 Russian parliamentary elections .

In the event that his party fails in the parliamentary elections, Dunayev announced that he would retire from politics.

In the parliamentary elections, the “Right Cause” only got 0.6% of the vote, making it the weakest party. Dunayev, however, remained party chairman.

On February 24, 2012, Dunayev was re-elected as party leader. On December 18, 2012, Dunayev resigned from this post after the party left the right-wing liberal course and embarked on a national conservative .

Between December 2012 and March 2014, Andrei Dunajew worked again mainly as a lawyer and also founded his own law firm called "Andrei Dunajew and colleagues". At the same time, he taught tax law at the Russian Plekhanov University of Economics .

Dunayev has headed the Istra district administration since October 17, 2014 , after having been deputy head since March 11, 2014.

Political positions

Andrei Dunajew describes himself as a staunch liberal . For example, he campaigned for Mikhail Khodorkovsky to be released . Still, Dunayev believes President Vladimir Putin's policies are broadly correct.

Andrei Dunayev has an older sister named Jelena.

Dunayev is married for the second time. He is the father of a son.

Dunayev completed professional training in hand-to-hand combat . His hobbies include equestrian sports , motocross and volleyball .
