Andrei Yevgenevich Leonov ( Russian Андрей Евгеньевич Леонов ; scientific transliteration Andrej Evgen'evič Leonov ; born June 15, 1959 in Moscow ) is a Russian theater and film actor.

Life and work

Andrei Leonov was born into the theatrical environment: his father was the extremely prominent actor Yevgeny Leonov , his mother was employed at the theater of the Lenin Komsomol ( Lenkom ). In 1972, just 13 years old, he stood in front of the camera for the first time: under the direction of Igor Maslennikow at the side of his father in the film "Rennfahrer" ( Gonschtschiki ).

From 1976 to 1980 he completed his acting training at the Shchukin Theater School in Moscow and was accepted into the ensemble of the Lenkom Theater before his final exam. In 1978 he starred in the film "A Ordinary Miracle" ( Obyknowennoje Tschudo ) directed by Mark Sakharov .

From 1981 to 1983 he did his two years of military service in a tank unit of the Soviet armed forces .

He participated in numerous performances of the Lenkom Theater. So he took on the role of Cherubino in " Figaros Hochzeit " by Pierre Augustin de Beaumarchais and the title role in " Uncle Vanya " by Anton Chekhov .

He became known to a large, international audience through the television series " Papas Töchter " ( Papiny dotschki ), which was broadcast from 2007 to 2013 and in which he played the leading role: He played a psychotherapist who raises his five daughters alone. In 2015 he portrayed his father Yevgeny in a television series dedicated to the life of actress Margarita Nazarova .

Andrei Leonow was also in demand as a voice actor. He appeared in the Russian cartoon “ Ku! Kin-dsa-dsa ”as well as in the Russian version of the French cartoon“ The Little Prince ”.
