Andrei Wladimirowitsch Schepelenko ( Russian Андрей Владимирович Шепеленко ; born May 12, 1980 in Podgorny , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Sokol Krasnoyarsk in the Vysschaja Hockey League since 2015 .
Career
Andrei Schepelenko began his career as a hockey player with Kedr Novouralsk , for whose professional team he was active from 1998 to 2001 in the Vysschaja Liga , the second Russian division. He then played for two years for their league rivals Dinamo-Energija Yekaterinburg , before spending one season each in the Vysschaya League at his ex-club Kedr Novouralsk and HK Metschel Chelyabinsk . The 2005/06 season he started at HK Sibir Novosibirsk in the super league , but left this after eight appearances and ended the season with his league rivals Severstal Tscherepowez . From 2006 to 2008 he played for the Super League participant Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk .
From 2008 to 2010 Schepelenko played for one year each in the Vysschaya League for Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg and Gasowik Tyumen . For the 2010/11 season he joined again Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg, which had in the meantime been accepted into the Continental Hockey League . In his first KHL season he scored five goals and seven assists in 54 games.
