Andrejan Dmitrijewitsch Sakharov ( Russian Андреян Дмитриевич Захаров , also Adrian Sakharov ; born August 19, 1761 in Saint Petersburg ; † September 8, 1811 ibid) was a Russian architect.

Sakharov was considered a leading exponent of Russian classicism around 1800. He received his training at the St. Petersburg Academy of Art. From 1782 to 1786 he studied architecture in Paris with Jean-François Chalgrin , which was connected with study trips to Italy. Sakharov was influenced by the current of revolutionary architecture . His main work is the building of the Admiralty (Saint Petersburg) , which was built in the years 1805 to 1819 in the Empire style . He also built the St. Andrew's Cathedral in Kronstadt , which was later rebuilt. Mention should be made of several bridges such as the Gorbatui Bridge ( Горбатый мост ) in Gatchina Park near Saint Petersburg and the Senate and Synod building complex in Saint Petersburg, which was designed by the Italian Carlo Rossi , but which is similar in size and shape to the building of the Admiralty was targeted. He also built the Church of St. Peter in Gatchina. He also built the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Izhevsk and the Sviato Preobrazhenensky Cathedral in Dnepropetrovsk .
