Andrew Boden

Andrew Boden (* in Carlisle , Pennsylvania ; †  December 20, 1835 there ) was an American politician . Between 1817 and 1821 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Andrew Boden attended public schools in his home country. After a subsequent law degree and his admission as a lawyer, he began to practice in this profession. He also worked in the real estate industry. Politically, he became a member of the Democratic Republican Party founded by Thomas Jefferson in the late 1790s .

In the congressional election of 1816 Boden was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the fifth constituency of Pennsylvania , where he succeeded William Crawford on March 4, 1817 . After re-election, he was able to complete two legislative terms in Congress until March 3, 1821 . After serving in the US House of Representatives, Boden returned to practice as a lawyer. He died on December 20, 1835 in his hometown of Carlisle.
