Carlisle is a city in the US state of Pennsylvania . It is the county seat of Cumberland County .
Carlisle was founded in 1751. In 2004 the city had about 18,000 inhabitants. It is located on Interstates 76 ( Pennsylvania Turnpike ) and 81 , which is important for economic development.
The Dickinson College (founded 1783) Carlisle is one of the oldest colleges in the US.
