Andrew Mark Rose (born August 9, 1978 in Ascot ) is a retired English football player .

Career

Rose joined Oxford United in 1995 as a trainee as part of the two-year Youth Training Scheme . In 1996 he won the Southern Junior Floodlit Cup with the youth team , and his teammates included Paul Powell and Elliot Jackson . In the summer of 1997 he was alongside Jamie Cook and Nigel Emsden one of three youth players who received a professional contract for the 1997/98 season. At Oxford Rose was in competition with Les Robinson for the place of the left full-back and came in his first professional season only to a five-minute short stint against Port Vale . In the following second division season 1998/99 Rose was in the starting line-up for the first time in November after a 2-0 defeat against Watford FC and had also contributed to a 3-2 victory in the 1998/99 League Cup against Luton Town in The few missions in the rest of the season he could not convince. Oxford rose at the end of the season as the penultimate from the First Division and his contract, which expired in the summer of 1999, was not renewed by coach Malcolm Shotton .

He then played in the Isthmian League , first at Harrow Borough , where he was named player of the season in 1999/2000 and reached the first main round of the FA Cup in 2000/01 , in which they were 0-3 at third division Wycombe Wanderers lost. In 2001 he joined league rivals Maidenhead United , and in 2003 he moved to FC Molesey .
