Andrew Schotter

Andrew Schotter (born June 6, 1947 ) is an American economist .

Life

Schotter earned a BS in Economics from Cornell University , graduating in 1969. In 1971, he received an MA from New York University . There he received his Ph.D. in 1973. in economics. In 1974, Schotter was an assistant professor at Syracuse University , from 1975 to 1979 in the same position at New York University. There he was an associate professor until 1987 .

Since 1988 he has been a full professor of economics at New York University and director of the Center for Experimental Social Science (CESS) there . He held various visiting professorships abroad and various positions in relevant professional associations, for example he was President of the Economic Science Association from 1999 to 2001 .

Researches

Schotter deals with game theory in the context of experimental economic research , microeconomics and mathematical theories in the field of institutional economics .
