The Andrews Rocks are a group of reef rocks off the south coast of South Georgia . They are located 800 m east of Cape Parjadin . There is no vegetation on them and they are washed over by the sea.
Their designation as Andrews Islands probably goes back to Lieutenant Commander John Miller Chaplin (1889-1977) of the Royal Navy , who undertook surveys in this area as part of the British Discovery Investigations with the RRS Discovery in 1926. The South Georgia Survey was renamed in the 1950s to better match the nature of the geographic object.
