Andries Both
Andries Both (* 1612 or 1613 in Utrecht ; † March 23, 1641 in Venice ; also Germanized Andreas Both ) was a Dutch painter.
Life
He and his brother Jan enjoyed Abraham Bloemaert's lessons , but went to Rome at an early stage , where Jan studied landscapes based on Claude Lorrain and Andries based on the figures and animals of Pieter van Laer . Andries drowned in a canal in Venice where the brothers had stayed for some time.
