Andries Kinsbergen

Andries Kinsbergen (born September 25, 1926 in Amsterdam , † June 24, 2016 in Antwerp ) was a Belgian lawyer , politician and long-time governor of the province of Antwerp .

Life

After attending school, he studied law at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and was after the promotion to Doctor of Law from 1951 to 1967 as a lawyer in Antwerp operates. From 1959 to 1966 he also worked as a research assistant at the VUB and as a lecturer at the Rijkshandelshogeschool in Antwerp.

In 1966 he accepted a position as professor of law at the Rijksuniversitair Centrum Antwerpen (RUCA) and worked there as a university lecturer until his retirement in 1991.

He was also appointed governor of the province of Antwerp in 1967 and held this position for 26 years until 1993. After leaving this office, he was awarded the honorary title of Minister of State for his services on September 10, 1993 .
