Andrzej Wierciński

Andrzej Wierciński (born March 10, 1961 in Białystok ) is a Polish philosopher, Roman Catholic theologian and poet. He is Professor of General Education and Philosophy of Education, Department of Education, University of Warsaw, as well as adjunct professor for the philosophy of religion at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg im Breisgau as well as founder and president of the International Institute for Hermeneutics .

Life

Andrzej Wierciński graduated in 1984 with a degree in Philosophy and Catholic Theology (MA) from the Catholic University of Lublin . In 1985 he was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Lublin . In 1990 he received his doctorate in philosophy with Stanisław Wielgus on the subject: “The scholastic preconditions of Gustav Siewerth's metaphysics . A historical-critical study with reference to the theory of being forgotten by Martin Heidegger ”, his doctorate in Catholic theology with Gerhard Ludwig Müller in 1996 :“ The poet in his being a poet: Attempting a philosophical-theological interpretation of being a poet using the example of Czesław Miłosz ”. In 2007 he was in professional philosophy of religion with the theme "Hermeneutics between Philosophy and Theology: The Imperative to Think the incommensurable" habilitation . From 2007 to 2012 Wierciński was a private lecturer at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg im Breisgau before he was appointed adjunct professor at the Chair for Philosophy of Religion in 2012.

Act

In teaching and research, Wierciński primarily deals with philosophical and theological hermeneutics , with the approaches of Hans-Georg Gadamer , Paul Ricœur and the hermeneutic reappropriation of medieval metaphysics by Gustav Siewerth, with German idealism , especially Schelling , and with the hermeneutics of education , Communication, medicine and psychoanalysis.
