Andy Brown

Andy Brown (born March 5, 1962 in Mberengwa , † March 16, 2012 in Parirenyatwa ) was a musician from Zimbabwe .

Life

Andy Brown grew up in a rural area and moved to Bulawayo to attend school. Here he founded his first band Impact . In 1986 he joined the group Ilanga , in which he was active as a guitarist and produced two albums. 1989 Brown left the band and started his solo career. With his own band The Storm he has been active for 13 years and is extremely popular in Zimbabwe.

Brown's political stance is quite controversial, as he spoke out against the current ruling party, but is also a member of the ZANU-PF and campaigns for land reform in Zimbabwe.

He died on March 16, 2012 after a brief illness.
