Andy JJ Hens (* 1966 in Menden ) is a Belgian photographer .

life and work

Hens was born into a Belgian family in the Sauerland. He trained as a photographer and passed the master's examination in 1996 with the top grade. Andy Hens then started as a trainer at the Dortmund Chamber of Crafts for the inter-company training of apprentices in the photography trade and heads the master school for professional photographers. Andy Hens has been committed to training and developing professional photographers for many years. He works as an apprentice supervisor for professional photographers in Westphalia, is deputy federal guild master of the Central Association of German Professional Photographers (CV) and spokesman for the Federation of European Professional Photographers (FEP). In addition, Hens has been Vice President of the Central Association of German Professional Photographers since 2013.

Andy JJ Hens was awarded the Master Qualified European Photographer (MQEP) in the field of art photography by the Federation of European Professional Photographers (FEP ) in 2009. His twelve-part series of Polaroid SX-70 images was created underwater and through double exposures . The photographs are unique . Andy JJ Hens was awarded the second Master Qualified European Photographer (MQEP) in CGI in 2017 by the Federation of European Professional Photographers (FEP).

The Iserlohn-based photographer Andy Hens received the IPC Leadership Award from the International Photographic Council (IPC) in New York in 2014 . Hens received the award for his work in the field of Computer Generated Imagery (CGI).

In 2016 the Städtische Galerie Iserlohn showed photos by Andy JJ Hens.
