features

The anemone-like Paraquilegia is a perennial, herbaceous plant that reaches heights of up to 25 centimeters. The stem and leaves are bare. The flowers are twofold threefold. The bracts measure 13 millimeters × 8 millimeters, are broad to obverse-shaped and bluish to purple in color. There are four or five carpels. The seeds are wrinkled.

The flowering period extends from June to July.

Occurrence

The anemone-like Paraquilegia occurs in Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Pamir-Alai, Tian-Shan , Bhutan, Kashmir as well as western and central China on alpine mats, rocks and rock joints at altitudes of 2600 to 3400 meters.
