Anette Seelinger

Anette Seelinger (* 1958 ) is a German artist and educator . She was a professor for aesthetics , communication and media at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences . Her focus is on aesthetic and media communication and cultural forms and artistic projects in social contexts.

Seelinger studied social education at the Protestant University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt and the University of Frankfurt . She completed her artistic training at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg and at the Art Academy of the State of Hesse in Offenbach. Since 2010 she has been a board member of the Hessian Film and Media Academy .

As a freelance artist, she has exhibited in Germany, Canada, Cuba and Switzerland, and has given many lectures at events.

Her dissertation with the title Aesthetic Constellations: on the conception of critical-aesthetic education in the media-technological society , submitted in 2000, consisted of about 25% plagiarism according to the results of the examination by the University of Darmstadt in 2011. The doctorate was revoked . The contested withdrawal was confirmed by the Darmstadt Administrative Court in April 2011. In May 2011, Seelinger submitted her resignation without notice to the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences.

She teaches as a lecturer at the HS Fulda.
