Angélica Castelló (born February 9, 1972 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican - Austrian musician and composer .

Angélica Castelló was born in Mexico, where she studied music from the age of 15 at the Conservatorio Nacional de México (main instrument recorder). From 1991 to 1997 she lived in Montreal and continued her music studies at the Université de Montréal . Then she was at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam for three years . She has lived in Vienna since 1999 .

Your main instrument is the sub-bass recorder . But she also plays a wide variety of electronic instruments, including samplers , synthesizers, and tape recorders. She composes works for ensembles and traditional solo instruments as well as for electro-acoustic instruments. For a few years now, Castelló has also made an appearance with installation works that are located at the interface between music, performance and the visual arts, and regularly plays concerts of improvised music .
