Angela Bettis
Angela Marie Bettis (born January 9, 1973 in Austin , Texas ) is an American actress .
Life and accomplishments
Bettis made his debut in the lead role of Maria in the Italian-Japanese Drama Zeffirelli's Sparrow by Franco Zeffirelli in 1993. In the film drama Girl, Interrupted (1999) she played alongside Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie . In 1999 she received the Rising Star Award from the Marco Island Film Festival .
In the horror film May (2002), Bettis played the lead role of May Dove Canady . For this role she won a prize from the Festival Internacional de Cinema de Catalunya in 2002 and a prize from the Semana Internacional de Cine Fántastico de Málaga and the Silver Raven of the Brussels International Festival of Fantasy Film in 2003 . She was also nominated for the 2003 Online Film Critics Society Award . In the horror film Carrie (2002), a remake of Carrie - Satan's youngest daughter , she took on the lead role of Carrie White . In the thriller novel (2006) Bettis worked as a director and editor.
Bettis has been married to film editor, director, film producer, screenwriter, cameraman and actor Kevin Ford since 2001 . She and her husband own the MoFreek production company , which produces numerous short films; Bettis has worked as a producer on some films.
