The Angot Point ( French Pointe Angot ) is the southern headland of Hoseason Iceland in the Palmer Archipelago off the western coast of the Antarctic Graham Lands .
The cape was named by the French polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot , head of the Fourth French Antarctic Expedition (1903-1905). It is named after the French physicist, meteorologist and climatologist Charles Alfred Angot (1848–1924), member of the commission for the publication of the scientific results of the research trip. The English-language name goes back to a decision of the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names in 1952, which the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee also joined a year later .
