Ani was an ancient Egyptian king ( Pharaoh ) of the 13th Dynasty ( Second Intermediate Period ), who lived from 1656 to around 1654 BC. Ruled. The proper name is only attested by a scarab . The throne name "Meri-hotep-Re" can be found on the other hand on the Stèle juridique and in the royal papyrus Turin (column 7, line 4), where he is assigned a reign of 2 years, 3 or 4 months and 9 days. Thomas Schneider , Jürgen von Beckerath and Anthony Spalinger see this as the throne name of Sobekhotep VI. and in Ani his original maiden name. Darrell D. Baker considers Ani to be the son and direct successor of Aja I and classifies him as the 33rd king of the 13th Dynasty.
