Sobekhotep VI. was an ancient Egyptian king ( Pharaoh ) of the 13th Dynasty ( Second Intermediate Period ), who lived from around 1696 to around 1694 BC. Or from around 1656 to around 1654 BC. Ruled.

supporting documents

The throne name Meri-hotep-Re can only be found in the Royal Papyrus Turin (7.4), the King's List of Karnak , a stele from Abydos and the so-called Stèle juridique from Karnak . A statue with the king's throne and personal name comes from the cachette there . However, a king with the same throne name, but with the proper name Ani, is documented on scarabs . A term of two years, two months and nine days is assumed.

Jürgen von Beckerath and Spalinger see in Ani an original maiden name of Sobekhotep, Franke speaks against it.
