Anil Dhirubhai Ambani ( Gujarati અનિલ અંબાણી Anil Ambānī ) (born June 4, 1959 in Mumbai ) is an Indian businessman. He is chairman of the Reliance Group (also known as Reliance - Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group ), which was founded in 2005. Ambani is, according to Forbes with a fortune of 3.3 billion US dollars to 29 out of the richest people of India.

He is one of the biggest Bollywood - producers . It owns 44 radio stations , animation studios and several multiplex cinemas across India. He is married to former Bollywood actress Tina Munim and has two sons with her.

Early life

Anil Dhirubhai Ambani was born on June 4, 1959 in Mumbai ( Maharashtra ) to Dhirajlal Hirachand Ambani , lives in Mumbai and has two brothers (including Mukesh Ambani ). He studied at the University of Mumbai's KC College , where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree . He then graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania to the Master of Business Administration .

Career

Anil Dhirubhai Ambani is one of India's leading businessmen and founder of the Reliance Group. Today he is chairman of the Reliances Group, including Reliance Communications , Reliance Capital , Reliance Infrastructure , and Reliance Power . In 1983, Dhirajlal Hirachand Ambani joined his father's company as co-chief .

After the death of his father in 2002, he took over the management of the company and expanded it into a group covering the areas of telecommunications , entertainment , finance , electricity and infrastructure .

He is a member of the Development Council of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh . From 2004 to 2006 Ambani belonged to the upper house of the Indian Parliament ( Rajya Sabha ) for the Samajwadi Party . Ambani's wife is former Bollywood actress Tina Munim .
