The song is about a woman with black hair and sparkling eyes named Anita, who the narrator meets "somewhere, alone in Mexico ".
Origin and Success
The song was written by Costa Cordalis together with Jean Frankfurter ; Frankfurter also produced the song. The song was released as a 7 ″ single on CBS and in 1985 as a 7 ″ EP in the GDR on Amiga . He also appeared on Cordalis' album I go through your street . In December 1976 the song entered the Swiss hit parade, in which it remained until April 1977 and in which it was number 1 for three weeks. In Germany the song came to number 3, in Austria to number 4 in the charts. The single also reached the top 20 in the Netherlands and Belgium .
