Anita Augustin

Anita Augustin-Huber (* 1970 in Klagenfurt ) is an Austrian dramaturge and writer .

Life

Anita Augustin studied theater studies, philosophy and German philology at the University of Vienna . With a university-funded scholarship, she studied for one year each in New York City and London. During her studies she worked as an advertising photographer and then earned a diploma as a state-certified bartender. From 1999 to 2002 she was chief dramaturge at the Schauspielhaus Salzburg and opera dramaturge at the Salzburg Festival . During this time she graduated with a PhD in Philosophy in 2000. From 2002 to 2006 she worked as a dramaturge at the Deutsches Theater Berlin . Since then she has been working as a freelance dramaturge.

She made her debut as a writer with the dramatic text Der Zwerg cleans den Kittel , which was published by Ullstein Verlag in 2012 . The text came on stage at the Ruhr Festival in 2014 in a production by Bettina Bruinier ; In contrast to the text, however, the production was disappointing for the critic of the Süddeutsche Zeitung, Cornelia Fiedler .
