Anita Hentschel , Otto married from 1967 (* December 12, 1942 in Löbnitz ; † April 18, 2019 ), was a German athlete and Olympic participant who - starting for the GDR - won the bronze medal in the discus throw at the 1966 European Championships ( 56.80 m - 55.24 - 56.12 - 54.26 - 55.28 - invalid ). At the Olympic Games in 1968 , she took fourth place under the name Anita Otto ( 54.40 m - 54.10 - 53.88 - invalid - 51.16 - 52.34).

Anita Hentschel belonged to the SC Chemie Halle . In 1965 and 1966 she was GDR champion in the discus throw, in 1964 and 1967 she was second. During her competition time she was 1.78 m tall and 87 kg.
