Sini Anita Kyllikki Snellman (born September 4, 1924 , † February 24, 2006 ) was a Finnish painter .

Life

Anita Snellman studied art in Helsinki , Stockholm and Paris .

After a long stay in Paris, she moved to Ibiza , where she bought an old finca in the east of the island at the end of the 1960s . The majority of her later oil paintings were created there, which are mainly inspired by the people, the landscape and the fauna of Ibiza.

As a painter, Snellman made an international career from the 1960s. Much of her work is exhibited in the most important museums in Finland. In 1986 she received a professorship for painting in Finland .

After her death in February 2006, she was buried in an honorary grave at the Hietaniemi Cemetery in Helsinki.
