Anja Kofbinger (born January 11, 1960 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German politician and member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen . She is a member of the Berlin House of Representatives and deputy chairwoman of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen parliamentary group as well as spokeswoman for women's and queer politics. She is chairman of the committee for work, integration & women and a member of the petitions committee .

job and education

After attending school in Dorsten , she began training as a surveying technician at the city administration, which she completed in 1979. Then she attended the Heisenberg High School in Gladbeck , where she graduated from high school in 1982. In the years 2001 to 2003 she completed further training as a project manager .

Party and politics

After moving to Berlin in 1987, she began to get involved in politics. Initially independent, from 1990 also as a member of the Berlin Alternative List for Democracy and Environmental Protection (AL) , she devoted herself to establishing a state working group for lesbian politics, of which she was spokesperson for almost ten years.

At the federal level, from 1997 to 2005 she was the spokesperson for the Federal Working Group on Lesbian Policy. During this time, she worked intensively on the implementation and adoption of the Law on Civil Partnerships , which came into force in August 2001.

From 1997 to 2001 she was spokeswoman for women's affairs and a member of the Berlin state board. From 2003 she worked as managing director of the green district association Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg . On September 17, 2006, she was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives for Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen at number 15 on the list.

In the 2009 Bundestag election she ran on the Berlin state list of the Greens in 5th place and as a direct candidate in the constituency of Berlin-Neukölln . In the elections to the Berlin House of Representatives in 2011, she ran for position 19 on the list and as a direct candidate in the Neukölln constituency for Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen. She won the constituency with a result of 32.8 percent and thus moved directly into the Berlin House of Representatives.

Private

Since May 2007 she has been living in partnership with the travel agency entrepreneur Anja Kofbinger, née Lippold.
