Anke Gerber (born April 27, 1952 on the island of Usedom ) is a German clown and pantomime .

Anke Gerber has been on stage since early childhood. First in the amateur ensemble of the Peenewerft, then as a member of the studio ballet at the Greifswald Theater. 1970 to 1973 she graduated from the State Ballet School in Berlin. Then freelance pantomime, collaboration with the songwriters Helga and Clement de Wroblewsky, who were known in the GDR .

In 1974, Anke Gerber began studying philosophy at the Humboldt University in Berlin , which she completed in 1980 with a degree in philosophy. Meanwhile tours through the Soviet Union and Sweden follow. Anke Gerber became known to the general public since 1978/1979 when she and the de Wroblewskys received a monthly slot in the children's series “Peep Boxes for Little People” with their children's spectacle “Clemils Clowns-Circus”. The show became very popular and achieved the highest ratings on television in the GDR . The clown "Ankeblümli" becomes a child hero. In 1982 Anke Gerber presented the GDR's first modern dance solo and received the gold medal from the Minister of Culture for it. This is followed by joint appearances with the Bayon group from Weimar. Until her expatriation in 1984 she was one of the most successful artists in the GDR. In 1985, together with Clement de Wroblewsky, her book Anatomie der Pantomime was published. It is considered the most comprehensive book on pantomime.

Anke Gerber lives and works in Berlin and teaches a. a. at the Theater Academy in Graz / Austria and at the Scuola Teatro Dimitri . in Ticino (Switzerland).
