Anko van der Werff

Anko David van der Werff is a Dutch aviation manager . He is the Chief Executive Officer of the Latin American Avianca Holdings .

Career

“As a small child, my heart beat faster when I saw these blue aircraft,” said the then 25-year-old Anko van der Werff, as an early testimony to his goals, in an interview in 2000 as a trainee in management at KLM .

Van der Werff has a degree in Law of the University of Leiden in the Netherlands and is a graduate of Harvard Business School in the United States . He is fluent in English, Dutch and Spanish. In addition, he was visiting professor at various international university institutions such as Cranfield University (United Kingdom), IUBH International University (Germany) and Texas A&M University at Qatar (Qatar).

His last position was at Aeromexico since 2014 , where he was Commercial Executive Vice President responsible for corporate strategy, network planning and routes, alliances, price and earnings management, sales, distribution, and e-commerce and marketing for five years .

Prior to joining Aeromexico, he was Senior Vice President Pricing & Revenue Management and Global Sales & Distribution at Qatar Airways . He also led Air France-KLM's trade strategy in the UK and Ireland and the Nordic countries. Early in his career, he was associated with Northwest Airlines and Air France .
