The Ankogelbahn is a cable car from Mallnitz ( Carinthia , Austria ) to the Ankogel .

The Ankogelbahn runs in two sections from the 1281  m above sea level. A. Elevated valley station via the middle station Hochalmblick ( 1945  m above sea level ) to the mountain station Hannoverhaus at an altitude of 2636  m above sea level. A. and overcomes a total difference in altitude of 1355 m. Just below the mountain station is the Hannoverhaus ( 2566  m above sea level ), a refuge of the Alpine Club. The first section has a sloping length of 1808 m with only one support, the second section has a sloping length of 2387 m with two supports.

It is a group shuttle train , with two cabins in the first section and three cabins in the second section, one behind the other, i.e. firmly clamped to the pull rope. In contrast to a conventional gondola lift , these groups of cabins move back and forth between the stations on their support cable.

The cable car was built by Waagner-Biro . The first section opened on December 19, 1965, the second on June 4, 1966. It has been operated by the Schultz Group since 1991 and was previously owned by the Mallnitz community.
