Colby Cohen (born April 25, 1989 in Villanova , Pennsylvania ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Reading Royals in the ECHL since October 2014 .

Career

Cohen was selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the second round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft in 45th place . After the draft, he played for Boston University for three years . In 2009 he and his team were named champions of the university and college sports league Hockey East and the most outstanding player of the tournament.

After the defender and his team were eliminated from the Hockey East semi-finals in 2010 against the University of Maine , he signed his first professional contract with the Colorado Avalanche on April 3, 2010 . The brief remainder of the ice hockey season he spent with the Avalanche farm team , the Lake Erie Monsters , where he was able to achieve an assist in three games.

Colby Cohen came in the 2010/11 NHL season to three missions for the Avalanche and completed 14 more missions for the Monsters in the American Hockey League , before he transferred to the Boston Bruins on November 29, 2010 in exchange for defender Matt Hunwick has been. However, Cohen was not used for the Bruins, but played until the end of the 2012/13 season with Boston's farm team, the Providence Bruins , in the AHL.

In 2006 he won the silver medal at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge .
