Ankuhn is a former town in Saxony-Anhalt . It has been part of Zerbst / Anhalt since 1849 .
history
Ankuhn was a suburb located outside the city walls in the north of Zerbst. According to a document from Baldwin of Brandenburg , the Church of St. Mary must have existed before 1214 and was rebuilt in 1709. Ankuhn had its own town charter since 1435. In 1849 it was incorporated into Zerbst / Anhalt . During the air raid on Zerbst on April 16, 1945, the St. Marien church was destroyed except for the surrounding walls. Only the choir was subsequently given an emergency roof. In 1991 it was separated from the nave by a glass and steel wall and has been used again for church services ever since.
