Ingvar Høegh

Ingvar Kristian Frederik Høegh (born April 30, 1927 in Qaqortoq ; † March 15, 2007 ibid) was a Greenlandic politician ( Atassut ).

During the Second World War he drove as a cabin boy between Greenland and the USA . He later trained as a butcher and worked in the Qaqortoq butcher and shrimp factory from 1951 to 1977, then was factory manager in Paamiut from 1978 to 1981 , in Narsaq from 1981 to 1989 and again in Qaqortoq from 1989 to 1994.

From 1952 to 1956 he was parish bailiff in Narsaq, from 1955 to 1956 council member of the parish of Narsaq and from 1959 to 1963 council member of the parish of Qaqortoq . In 1975 he stood for election for Grønlands Landsråd , but was narrowly defeated by Lars Godtfredsen . After he did not run for the first election for Inatsisartut in 1979 , he was elected in the 1983 election and re-elected in 1984. In 1987 he no longer took up the position himself, but only as the second deputy for Sten Egede Hegelung, who was not elected. In 1993 he ran for local elections in Qaqortoq and was elected. In 1995 he ran again as the second deputy to the parliamentary election. This time for Torben Emil Lynge , who, however, also missed the entry. For the local elections in 1997 he stood up again, but received only the third most votes of his party and thus missed the renewed entry into the local council.

On April 16, 2003 he received the Nersornaat in silver.

He was the son of John Otto Abel Jens Høegh (1890–1966) and his wife Marie Augusta Hanne Chemnitz (1896–1972). His older brother was Erling Høegh (1924-1993) and his twin brother Oluf Høegh (1927-2018). Two uncles on his father's side were Pavia Høegh (1886–1956) and Frederik Høegh (1895–1970), who, like his father, sat on the National Council. A maternal uncle was Jørgen Chemnitz (1890-1956), as well as a state councilor and his son Lars Chemnitz (1925-2006).
