Oluf Høegh

Oluf Hans William Høegh (born April 30, 1927 in Qaqortoq ; † May 15, 2018 ) was a Greenland councilor .

Oluf Høegh was trained as an electrician in Frederikssund until 1950 . He then worked at Grønlands Tekniske Organization until 1975 . He was then a village consultant until 1984 before moving to Hellerup , where he headed the Grønlænderhjemmet.

In 1952 he was elected bailiff of Qaqortoq before he was elected to the council of Qaqortoq in 1955 . In 1959 he was re-elected and appointed chairman. He was then elected to the Greenland Regional Council in 1963, but took over the post of municipal council chairman again in 1967, which he held until 1975. After his time on the local council he was still involved in several organizations.

On February 19, 2003 he was awarded the Nersornaat in silver. On September 5, 2017, he received the Nersornaat in gold. On May 15, 2018, Oluf Høegh died at the age of 91 and was buried in Humlebæk .

Oluf was the son of John Otto Abel Jens Høegh (1890–1966) and his wife Marie Augusta Hanne Chemnitz (1896–1972). His older brother was Erling Høegh (1924-1993) and his twin brother Ingvar Høegh (1927-2007). Two uncles on his father's side were Pavia Høegh (1886–1956) and Frederik Høegh (1895–1970), who, like his father, sat on the National Council. A maternal uncle was the Provincial Councilor Jørgen Chemnitz (1890-1956), whose son Lars Chemnitz (1925-2006) was.
