Hans Jakob Peter Thue Jensen (also Thue Jakob Peter Hans Jensen ; born November 16, 1914 in Saattut ; † 1993 ) was a Greenlandic catechist and councilor .

Life

Peter Jensen was the son of the hunter Peter Edvard Kristian Mathias Jensen (1879–?) And his wife Juliane Marie Theresie Leibhardt (1886–?). He married Therese Hanne Judithe Geisler (1915–?), Daughter of Hans Peter Hendrik Geisler (1874–?) And Martha Cecilie Kathrine Mathiasen (1882–1920) in Savissivik on August 17, 1938 . The marriage resulted in the son Ilannguaq G. Jensen (* 1939).

Peter Jensen moved to Thule District in the 1930s to work as a catechist. He worked in Savissivik for decades. For this he received the Kongelige Belønningsmedalje in 1959 . From 1961, North and East Greenland were divided into regional council constituencies and Peter Jensen became the first regional councilor for constituency 14, which included the former Thule district. From 1963 to 1966 he was a member of the Greenland State Council for a further legislative period . It is unclear whether Peter Jensen , who received the Nersornaat in silver in 1990 , is him. Peter Jensen died in 1993 at the age of 80.
