Albrecht "Alibak" Jens Peter Jakob Josefsen (born October 29, 1925 in Maniitsoq ; † March 1987 ibid) was a Greenland fisherman and councilor .

Life

Alibak Josefsen was the son of the hunter Albrekt Ole Jens Josefsen (1902–1925) and his wife Marta Karoline Bilha Heilmann (1901–?). He was a great-nephew of the Provincial Councilor of the same name, Albrecht Josefsen (1857–1921).

In 1949 he co-founded the fishermen and hunters' association in Maniitsoq. In 1953 such an association was founded nationwide for the first time, KNAPK , where Alibak Josefsen was involved from the start. When Carl Egede died in 1959 in the sinking of Hans Hedtoft , Alibak replaced him as chairman of KNAPK, which he remained for two years before Mikael Heilmann succeeded him.

Also in 1959 he was first elected to the Maniitsoq Municipality Council. He stayed there for one legislative period until 1963, when he was first elected to the Greenland State Council. He remained for three legislative terms until 1975, before he returned to local politics, was again elected to the council of Maniitsoq and was immediately mayor. In 1979 he was re-elected to the local council, but had to give up the mayoral seat. He remained a councilor until his death at the age of 61. He was a knight of the Dannebrog Order .
