Niels Holm (politician)

Niels Holm (born September 4, 1936 in Nuuk ; † November 8, 1999 ibid) was a Greenlandic translator and councilor .

Life

Niels Holm was trained as a police officer and headed the police station in Narsaq . From 1972 to 1975 he was self-employed. He then worked as an interpreter in the National Council before he was a translator for the Atuagagdliutit until 1979 . At the same time he also helped as a translator at the Greenlandic municipal association KANUKOKA , where he was employed in 1979 and which he later also served as a consultant. In his spare time he worked as a photographer.

In 1967 he stood in for the late Erik Egede in Grønlands Landsråd , where he remained until the end of the legislative period in 1971. From 1975 to 1979 he was a member of the Nuuk Township Council . He died in autumn 1999 after a long illness at the age of 63.
