Ann Brashares (born July 30, 1967 in Alexandria , Virginia ) is an American youth writer. She is known as the author of the "One-for-4" book series. On the basis of this, the two feature films were made, One for 4 (2005) and One for 4 - On the Road in Things (2008).

Life

Ann Brashares grew up in Chevy Chase , Maryland . As a child, she attended Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC After studying philosophy at Barnard College , she worked as an editor. After several successful years as an editor of children's books, she started writing her own books. Her first novel Eine für 4 was published in 2003 and immediately became a worldwide bestseller, with other titles to follow. The fifth and final book Forever and Eternal was published in March 2012. Ann Brashares also wrote an adult novel, Our Last Summer (From You and Me) , which was published in 2007.

She lives in New York City with her husband, artist Jacob Collins, and their three children .

Ann Brashares writes primarily for young adults. In addition to the one-for-four books, she has two titles on her list of “non-fiction” books, and her first adult novel was published in 2007.
