Anna "Nanette" Bondra (born March 21, 1798 in Vienna , Habsburg Monarchy ; † July 11, 1836 in Vienna, Austrian Empire ) was an Austrian opera singer ( soprano , mezzo-soprano ).

Life

Anna (also Nanette) Bondra, the daughter of a Viennese choir director, was the younger sister of the singer Therese Bondra (1794–1816). She was a member of the kk Hoftheater from January 22, 1811 to June 30, 1822 and then belonged to the ensemble of the Italian Opera in Vienna.

Her embodiment of the Marzelline at the world premiere of the third, final version of Beethoven's opera Fidelio , which took place on May 23, 1814 in the Theater am Kärntnertor , is of musical historical importance . In order to distinguish her from her older sister, she was listed on the notice as “Dlle. Bondra dj ”.

Later she also sang mezzo-soprano parts and was successful as a concert soloist.

“Anna Bondra, opera singer in the kk Hoftheater next to the Kärntnerthore” last lived at Kärntnerstrasse No. 1076 and died at the age of only 38 after suffering from scarlet fever “from deposits of scarlet fever on the brain”.
