Anna Caterina Antonacci
Anna Caterina Antonacci (born April 5, 1961 in Ferrara ) is an Italian opera and lied singer ( mezzo-soprano and soprano ).
Life
After studying in Bologna, Anna Caterina Antonacci sang mezzo-soprano roles in Italian bel canto and, at the opening of the 1996 season at La Scala in Milan, played the title role in Gluck's Armide with great success . A few years later, she decided to expand her vocal subject in the direction of drama Soprano. In 2006 she celebrated success in Carmen at the Royal Opera House , then also in soprano roles such as B. Elettra in Mozart's Idomeneo , Rachel in Halévy's La Juive and Cassandre in Berlioz ' Les Troyens .

As an interpreter of orchestral songs , Anna Caterina Antonacci performed Wagner's Wesendonck lieder at the BBC Proms 2013 and sang Les nuits d'été by Hector Berlioz with the Berliner Philharmoniker in November 2015 . As a lieder singer with piano and string quartet accompaniment, she performed Italian and French songs from the 19th and 20th centuries in Frankfurt in May 2017.
