Anna Clementi
Anna Clementi is an Italian singer and actress .
The daughter of the composer Aldo Clementi grew up in Rome. She studied flute at the Conservatory of Perugia and then attended drama school at the Centro Sperimentale del Teatro in Rome. In 1985 she moved to Berlin , where she took part in Dieter Schnebel's courses in experimental vocal music and experimental music theater at the Hochschule der Künste . She became a member of Schnebel's Ensemble Die Maulwerker and also studied jazz singing with Kara Johnstad and Belcanto with Mieko Kanesugi .
Due to her ability to combine song, language, dance and acting, Clementi is considered an important interpreter of contemporary compositions and has performed the works of Schnebel and John Cage in particular worldwide. In addition, she sang world premieres of works by Laura Bianchini , Giovanni Damiani , Helmut Oehring , Iris ter Schiphorst and Rupert Huber .
In 1990 she founded the duo Alliin Gäa together with the New York singer Gisburg . In addition to classical contemporary music, her repertoire also includes jazz , free improvisation, performance art, house , dub and cabaret appearances.
